It was the waiting room for important visitors, and by day it still behaves like one.
A copper arc lamp leans in over the seating from one corner, and 2 framed panels of beaten silver hang on the far wall.
There is a table-tennis table in the middle of it and a screen at one end. Ask, and the doors are shut and the room becomes a private cinema for a film or a match.
In the evening the same room is laid for dinner and the silver does all the work.
