A baby grand sits at one end of the room, under a low chandelier of blown-glass globes, with a wall of framed black-and-white photographs behind a run of deep velvet armchairs and mirrored panelling.
The room reads as a private members' bar, and the live jazz most nights is the point of coming.
The cocktail list holds to 8 classics. The snacks are small plates built for sharing, meant to sit on the table between rounds.
