A green-tiled bar curving under a barrel-vaulted brick ceiling, painted panels on the far wall and stools set along the counter.

The food is small plates and mostly Spanish: croquetas, empanadas, meatballs in tomato, and boards of charcuterie and cheese for the table.

The wine is arranged by country and it does not stop at the famous ones. France runs from Bordeaux and Alsace through Chablis and the Rhône; Italy, Spain and Germany follow; then Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and California. Indian wine sits in the same list, not in a section at the back.

Behind the wine there is whisky, sorted by region: Highland, Speyside and Islay, several of them bottled at 3 or 4 different ages, with Irish and Indian bottles alongside.
