The kitchen is Mediterranean and unhurried, and the plates say so.
Monkfish goes into a pot au feu with chanterelles, yellow tomato and sourdough. Chicken piccata is sautéed and finished in a fresh herb sauce. Salmon tartare comes with Sicilian oranges, dill, lime, fennel and olive oil.
Half the room is a bar, with its own counter and its own set-up rather than a service station behind the tables. The rest faces the doors, and the doors open onto the pool terrace.
Lunch runs to 5 in the afternoon, and no one under 18 is in the room for any of it. Dinner drops the age to 12 at 6.30. The pool outside is adults-only as well, so from noon until sunset this is the quiet end of the property.
