It is a black room, and it is small.
Padded leather runs up the walls, buttoned armchairs are drawn round low candlelit tables, and a grand piano stands on a stage barely raised off the floor under two spotlights, with his signature in white neon behind it.
The acoustics were built into the room rather than hung on it afterwards, which is the difference you hear the moment anybody starts playing. Quincy Jones won 28 Grammys across a career of more than 7 decades.
What comes out of the kitchen is bar food, meant to be eaten alongside a drink rather than instead of one, and there is a cigar list to go with it. The minimum spend is about AED 300 a head at the weekend.
