Tasca is the Portuguese word for tavern, and the room is nothing of the sort.
Dubai sits on one side of it, the Gulf on the other, and it holds a Michelin star.
The terrace is where you want to be before the light goes. An infinity pool runs along its outer edge, and dinner is served out there as well as inside.
Saturday afternoon is given over to brunch instead: one set menu of Portuguese summer food, marinated seafood and sangria.

The kitchen
José Avillez
He cooked at El Bulli under Ferran Adrià and later ran the kitchen at Tavares in Lisbon, which won a Michelin star a year after he arrived.
