The table stands at bar height and the chairs are stools.
It puts everybody's eye at the same level, whether they are sitting or on their feet with a glass.
The Vincent Beaurin piece beside it fills the wall from floor to ceiling, overlapping leaf shapes graduating from yellow at the top to terracotta at the foot. The rest of the room holds still: 2 crystal chandeliers, a grey patterned rug, one tall window onto the garden.
Breakfast, lunch, cocktails or dinner — the room is laid for any of them, and notice in advance is what lets the kitchen prepare for it.
