Nai Harn Beach. The beach itself runs 800 metres along a protected bay, reached down a flight of steps beside Rock Salt, about 50 metres from the lobby. Sun loungers sit only in the strip the local regulation sets aside for them, and a beach butler helps set up an umbrella and towels each morning. Kayaks, paddle boards and snorkelling gear are free to take out, lifeguards are stationed along the sand, and no motorised craft are permitted on the water at all.
The Spa, and Puriti. The spa runs a programme called SOL: 5 signature journeys built around the classical elements — metal, water, wood, fire and earth — open daily from 10 in the morning until 8 at night. For a longer reset, Puriti is a supervised detox in 3 lengths, 1, 3 or 5 days, running from about THB 9,350 to about THB 19,930, built around raw, enzyme-rich food and a full break from alcohol and caffeine.
The Pool and the Gym. The main pool sits at the centre of the grounds, between the rooms and the beach. The gym alongside it is open around the clock, with free weights and cardio machines and a view over the grounds; after 8 at night the door is locked and the front desk will let you in on request.
In-Room Dining, Any Hour. Room service runs the same hours as the kitchens downstairs, 7 in the morning until midnight, last order at a quarter to. A barbecue butler will set up and grill on your own terrace; breakfast in bed comes with all the trimmings, and a candlelit dinner can be laid there instead of in a restaurant. In the higher categories, a button on the daybed calls for champagne without a phone call.
Getting Around. The concierge arranges a car and driver — from about THB 700 an hour for a sedan, about THB 1,000 for a larger car, both with a 3-hour minimum — and books excursions from an in-house desk. Bicycles are free to take out, and Promthep Cape, the island's best-known viewpoint, is a few minutes away by road; the Rawai sea-gypsy market and the Chalong Bay rum distillery are both a short drive further.
What The Nai Harn Does About the Island. Housekeeping runs on glass rather than single-use plastic, energy-saving and LED lighting throughout, and low-flow fixtures in every bathroom. The kitchens keep a herb and vegetable garden and buy seafood locally where they can, and the bar's Zero Miles Cocktails are built from what the kitchen would otherwise throw away. Staff run regular beach clean-ups and mangrove planting locally, and every room carries a bag for guests who want to donate toward local children in need.
