Afternoon Tea began in the 19th century, the same century Raffles did.

It was a British aristocratic ritual then. The tea travelled to Asia during the golden age of travel and settled here. Somerset Maugham's line about the hotel, that it "stands for all the fables of the exotic East", is printed on the menu.

Tea is hand-picked by tea sommeliers from JING, from classic English blends to floral and Asian leaves, with a single-garden selection above them. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are made on request.
