An evening view of the alfresco courtyard bar under ornate white cast-iron Victorian colonnades and hanging lanterns, back-lit bottle shelves, mustard-coloured bar chairs, and candle-lit wooden tables.

The colonnade is Victorian filigree cast in white iron, with the hotel's own crest worked into circular medallions along the beam, and a wall of climbing greenery screening one side of the courtyard from the buildings around it.

By night the room runs on candlelight and the bottles lit behind the bar.

Grill Night runs every Tuesday, 5 to 9, with seafood and barbecue cooked at a live station — tiger prawns, oysters and otak-otak among them. Wine Wednesday puts selected glasses at about SGD 12, with a complimentary second bottle on any bottle order.
