Of the 6 room grades, 5 are the same 51 square metres — 43 inside and an 8-metre balcony — so what you are choosing is what the balcony faces. Ocean rooms look over the palms to the sea and the Burj Al Arab. Arabian rooms look inward over the gardens and the waterways. Lagoon rooms look straight down at the water, where the abras pass.
Club privileges come with 11 of the 16 grades, and they are what separates two otherwise identical rooms. They include breakfast, a signature afternoon tea, evening apéritifs with canapés, a dedicated concierge, soft drinks replenished daily in the minibar, wellness sessions and a laundry discount of about 15 per cent. What they do not include at the moment is a lounge: the Palace Lounge is closed until further notice, and every item on that list has moved to La Promenade and Al Fayrooz Lounge.
Return transfers to and from Dubai International come with every grade from the 79-square-metre Arabian Family Club Room upwards — the 2 Junior Suites, both One Bedroom Suites, the Two Bedroom Junior Arabian Suite, the Two Bedroom Family Suite and both Royal Suites. They do not come with the 3 Deluxe rooms, the 2 ordinary Club rooms or the 2 Two Bedroom Family Rooms.
Of the 16 grades, 11 sleep 4 guests, and no more than 3 of them may be adults.
That holds for the 396-square-metre One Bedroom Royal Suite exactly as it holds for the 51-square-metre Arabian Deluxe. Only 5 grades go higher, and just 3 of those take a fourth adult: the sleeps 6, of whom 5 may be adults.
Rates here move with the nights you choose, so there is nothing honest to show until you have chosen them. Pick your dates above and the rooms the house sells online will price themselves. 5 grades here are arranged through the concierge instead.
The Two Bedroom Family Suite sleeps 8, of whom 6 may be adults.
The Three Bedroom Royal Suite sleeps 12, of whom 9 may be adults. If you are 4 adults travelling together, that is your list, or it is 2 rooms.
There are 4 two-bedroom grades here, and they are not 4 versions of one thing.
The Two Bedroom Arabian Family Room and the Two Bedroom Ocean Family Room are 2 Deluxe rooms joined by a guaranteed interconnecting door, with 1 private entrance, 102 square metres of which 86 are indoors, and 2 balconies — one pair facing inland, one facing the sea.
The Two Bedroom Junior Arabian Suite is the same arrangement a grade up, 130 square metres with 2 large balconies.
The Two Bedroom Family Suite is a different thing again: 188 square metres on one floor with a master bedroom, a twin room, a living room, a dining room, a pantry, 2 bathrooms, an in-suite office and a home theatre. The Tourism Dirham is charged per bedroom, so all 4 pay it twice a night.
