The hotel sits inside Chao Phraya Estate, a riverfront development in Bangkok's Sathorn district, reached by road along Charoen Krung Road or by boat from its own private pier. It holds 299 rooms and suites across 15 grades, spread through 2 low wings around a landscaped courtyard — the Cascade Wing and the Palm Court Wing — rather than a single tower. Suvarnabhumi Airport is about 40 minutes away by road, and the elevated BTS Skytrain reaches Saphan Taksin station, a 15-minute walk from the front door along Charoen Krung Road.
At 6 in the evening the rooms turn towards the water. Every one of them opens through floor-to-ceiling glass, and what the glass holds is the choice: the landscaped courtyard between the 2 wings, or the Chao Phraya beyond it going gold as the boats cross. Higher up, a balcony or a terrace stops being a view and becomes a room of its own. On the top floor of the Cascade Wing, the Riverfront Penthouse keeps a private pool on its rooftop terrace, the one pool anywhere on the property that belongs to a single room.
The concierge works from the hotel's own private pier, arranging a sunset cruise on a hand-built mahogany Hacker-Craft launch, champagne poured as the temples and towers along the bank change colour. Children have a club of their own by the river, and a gallery run with the Museum of Contemporary Art sits inside the hotel.

The first 4 are all 50 square metres, and only the wing, the floor and the view change: a central courtyard from the Cascade Wing on floors 3 to 9, the same courtyard from lower down on floors 0 to 3, courtyard and river from floors 7 to 12, or the fullest river view from floors 3 to 11.
Premier Balcony Room steps up to 64 square metres on the 2nd floor, the only one of the 5 with a private balcony.
Four Seasons Family Room, Four Seasons River-View Room and Four Seasons River-View Terrace Room widen the entry band to 77 or more square metres before a suite is even on the table.
Executive Suite is the true step up, 110 to 125 square metres with a separate living room; Balcony Suite goes further at 139, adding a private balcony and a guest powder room beside the main bathroom.
Palm Court Family Two-Bedroom Room, Deluxe River-View Two-Bedroom Suite and Chao Phraya Terrace Two-Bedroom Suite are the only 3 grades here with 2 bedrooms behind one door, at 127, 195 and 355 square metres.
