The counter at the centre of the room is where the work is done.
A marble top on dark green mosaic, a whole ham on a stand at one end, a hand-cranked red slicer at the other, and a lit glass case of cheese between them.
A line of glass-fronted cabinets runs down one wall: more hams hanging, shelves of preserving jars, and the same jars in rows on the shelving behind. Almost everything you will be served is in the room with you before it is cut.
The cocktails are seasonal too, and there is jazz playing low. Dress is smart casual.
