Thai, in a pavilion of its own
Restaurant · Lunch Friday to Sunday

A lacquered pavilion stands behind a scalloped plaster portal, bronze elephants on plinths either side of the door and two gilded guardian figures inside it.
Frangipani hangs over the courtyard and the waterway runs past it.
Saturday lunch is the Rite of Siam, served the way a Thai table is served — salads and small starters first, then curries and wok-tossed noodles, all of it down the middle to share. It runs 12.30 to 3, at about AED 275 a head with soft drinks.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is a shorter midday menu called Kin Samrap, 2 or 3 courses at about AED 150 or about AED 175, written to work for vegetarians and vegans as well.
