Two carved sandstone pillars, worked into a leaf motif at the base, frame the entrance, portraits and family photographs hung along the walls between them.
The seating is arranged in loose clusters of chairs around low round tables rather than in a single row, each chair carved and gilded to match its neighbours.
The bar itself is a small carved wooden counter set into one corner, backed by a cabinet of bottles; a folding wooden screen stands beside it, closing the room off from the corridor when it is not in use.
