On Friday and Saturday afternoons the room turns into a Victorian high tea, from 3.30 to 6.30 in the afternoon: a set menu and a buffet, with a run of teas and coffees and a trolley of champagne wheeled to the table.

There is a kids' menu too, each dish named for a cartoon character: steamed vegetables called Popeye's Super Veggies, a grilled cheese named for Jerry, and pasta named for Pokémon and for Rapunzel.

In-room dining runs off most of the same list, day and night, if a room feels better than a table.
