Afternoon tea is the way in for anyone not staying in a suite.
It runs from 2 until 5 every day, and it is the one service in this room open to the whole hotel.
The spirits are the serious part. Yamazaki, the Hibiki 100th Anniversary, Hakushu 18-year-old and The Macallan M in its black decanter are all here, and not one of them is easy to come by.
The cigar room behind it keeps 90 cigars from around the world, and the staff will pair one with a pour rather than leave you to guess. The accessories are part of the ritual: Elie Bleu ashtrays, leather pouches, cutters in Damascus steel.
