Pool Villa

The only grade here that is not part of a terrace. The Pool Villas sit at the top of the property, spaced far enough apart that you reach them along floating walkways through the trees, and each one is a single-storey pavilion under a cedar-shingled roof with its own water held out in front of it. The pool is dark and long and finishes in an infinity edge against the canopy; at the far end is a sala on timber posts with a daybed and a lounger under it, which is where most of the day happens.

Inside, one bedroom with a king and a wall of glass, a separate sitting room with sofas drawn round a teak table and full-height doors straight onto the water, and a walk-in closet between them. The bathroom is a double vanity, a rain shower and a free-standing tub set at a shuttered window. Natural wood and stone throughout, and floor-to-ceiling glazing on the pool side so the jungle is in the room whether you want it or not. What it does not have is the sea at the door — the outlook is garden and treetop, and the beach is a walk down.
