Above the lobby and inside the trees. Tranquility and privacy are both literally true here — the cottages are stacked up the slope among coconut trunks with mature planting between them, so no terrace looks into another, and the only thing in the frame from the window seat is green. What you hear from 6 in the evening is cicadas, and what you do not hear is the beach.

The room is 46 square metres like its two siblings: a super king, a sofa bed, a desk, a window seat under the bay with a polished red sill. Wooden doors lead through to an en-suite designed for couples — his-and-hers dressing areas, closets and vanities. The trade is the climb: this is the top of the property, and the walk down to breakfast and back up from the sand is the longest here, which matters on a hillside with no lift. On a hot afternoon the shade is worth having.
