There are about 4 metres between the bed and the water. You draw back a linen curtain in the morning, cross a terrace, and step down into a reflecting pool that runs the length of your row of rooms. Nobody puts on shoes to do it.
Inside it is cool and low-lit: a domed alcove over the bed, a daybed set into the window so that whoever wakes first has somewhere to be, and a bathroom in local marble. The 60 square metres are arranged so that the terrace is the room you live in and the inside is where you sleep and dress.
Semi-private is the right word for it. That stretch of water is shared by 4 rooms, so it is not yours alone, and in a full week you will have company in it.
