Of the 86 square metres, 56 are indoors and 30 are a terrace with a wall around it. That split is the design of the whole hotel: the terrace is not a balcony you step onto for a minute, it is a second room with the garden as its ceiling, and by the second morning it is where breakfast happens without anyone having discussed it.

The bay window seat is wide enough for two people to sit facing each other, and the bed faces it rather than a television. The bathroom has its own small courtyard, which is a thing worth having at 7 in the morning in February. Marble, cool floors, shutters — nothing in the room is loud.

There is no pool at your door; that starts one grade up. What you have instead is unbroken garden, and nobody walking past your terrace to swim.
