Deluxe Suite, Luxury Suite and Grand Luxury Suite each come in a Lake View and a Courtyard View — 6 of the 9 grades here. The 2 halves of a pair are the same size, with the same things in them, and only the jharokha faces a different way. Lake View looks at Pichola, the Taj Lake Palace and Jagmandir.
Courtyard View looks into the palace itself, its own courts and the older carved stone above them. The other 3 grades are the entry room, the one suite with a shared terrace, and the Royal Suite.
Only the Royal Suite has a single size, 97 square metres. Every other grade has a range, because the palace was built as a residence and its 65 rooms were fitted into whatever shape the walls left.
A Palace Room runs 28 to 38 square metres.
A Deluxe Suite, 33 to 69.
A Grand Luxury Suite, 68 to 92. The figure on each card below is the smallest that room gets.
The Luxury Suite Lake View with Shared Sit-Out has no balcony of its own. It has a wide terrace instead, shared with its neighbours, long enough for breakfast and facing the lakes at sunset. It also interconnects on request, so it is the one grade here that works for a family. Take it if you are 2 rooms travelling together; take a private balcony if you are not.
The Palace Room and the 2 s have a 3-fixture marble bathroom. Every grade above them has 4 fixtures and a Jacuzzi.

The way into the palace, and the only one here called a room rather than a suite: 28 to 38 square metres of marble and classic paintings, with Lake Pichola through the jharokha windows.
The Luxury Suite Lake View can be either, so ask which bathroom you are getting when you book.
A sitting area appears at Deluxe Suite and becomes a full living room from Luxury Suite up.
Every room has marble floors, cushioned jharokha window ledges, miniature paintings, the palace's own period furniture, Italian bed linen, a tea and coffee maker, a minibar, bottled water, an electronic safe, a flatscreen, dual-line telephones and newspapers. Basic wi-fi is included throughout; the premium tier is charged.
The Luxury Suite Courtyard View is the one grade with free wi-fi on 4 devices. In-room dining runs around the clock, and a butler comes on request. What changes as you climb is how many rooms there are, how many fixtures are in the bathroom, and which way the windows face.
