You come in through a foyer rather than a door, into 190 square metres with a separate living room, a dining area, a walk-in closet and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub. All of that is a good suite. What makes it a different thing altogether is outside: a private pool and a walled piece of garden nobody else uses or can see into.

The pool changes how the day is spent more than the extra 30 square metres do. Breakfast can be floated out onto it — continental, English, or with champagne — and it is exactly as ridiculous and as good as it sounds. The Manor's beach, lounge, tea and cocktails come with it, as do the laundry and the car. Most people should stop here; above this you are buying bedrooms.
