Superior riad

The door is easy to miss. Behind it, the patio is full of daylight and opens into a cosy sitting room with a fire, which is where to take your tea. Everything is matched: the door trims pick up the zellige of the patio, the bathroom marble picks up the brocade in the bedroom, and the tadelakt walls set off the artworks. The bedroom is on the first floor, beside a bathroom of porcelain, onyx and marble.

The roof terrace looks over the medina to the Atlas peaks, and after dark it sits under the stars. There is a solarium and a pool of your own, and if it rains a glass roof closes over the patio. The controls are touch screens hidden in the décor. Valets and maids look after the riad.
