The room has had 3 lives: a spacious open courtyard first, then a teak-floored ballroom for dancing, and only later the restaurant it is today.
What survives from each stage sits layered rather than replaced — white marble arches, marble fireplaces, gilt-edged doors, and a set of chandeliers styled after A Midsummer Night's Dream and shipped from Fine Art Lamps in Florida.

The 3 menus — European, Oriental and Indian — are plated one way rather than 3, so a curry and a risotto can arrive looking like they came from the same kitchen.
