Prince Alexander Suite

In 1945, the birth of Crown Prince Alexander transformed this suite into Yugoslavian territory, when Sir Winston Churchill declared the land beneath his bed sovereign soil. Michelle Wu's interiors honour that legacy: gold leaf traces the ceiling and wall mouldings, hand-embroidered silks and French-inspired detailing sit alongside restored furnishings, and crystal chandeliers and marble fireplaces give the principal rooms their sense of history.

An original Gilbert and Sullivan piano forms a natural centre of gravity, and the dining room continues the sense of occasion, its curved walls and restored table set for celebrations.
