The Palm King with the lounge attached. Same room, same bronze headboard and coral carpet, same balcony — and the balcony here is the one with the towers in it, which from a club floor high in the building is the best version of that view below suite level.

The club is the point: unlimited breakfast and afternoon tea in the lounge, drinks and canapés at sunset, a private beach, a marine-animal credit, and half an hour extra on any spa treatment. It is the room to take if you want the city at night and somebody else to have thought about breakfast.

The room

Its bathroom: a freestanding oval bath, and opposite it a stone top on a limed-oak base under a lit mirror against amber honeycomb mosaic, with the bed and its balcony framed straight through the opening.

The bar at the end of the lounge, a curved fluted counter with a copper column behind it and one bartender working alone, low cream chairs on a blue coral-print rug, and arched windows holding palms and open sea.
