Pavilion

The pavilion is 115 square metres in all — 50 indoors, 65 of deck and sala. Inside there is a king bed on a low platform with a tall lacquer lamp either side of it, walls of stacked teak panelling, a dressing area large enough to unpack into properly, and a bathroom with twin vanities and a deep soaking tub behind latticed screens. The windows are big and the lines are clean; nothing is carved and nothing is gilded.

These stand along the resort's internal passageway, off the seaward slope, which is what makes them the cheapest way in and also what makes them quiet: what you hear is the plantation. The outdoor sala is a roofed timber platform with cushions on it, and it is where most of the day happens. It sleeps 3, in any combination.
