This is where the palace stops feeling like a hotel room and starts feeling like an apartment. It runs 111 to 120 square metres, laid out as a bedroom and a genuinely separate sitting room, in the green-and-gold Art Deco Norblin left behind: a painted panel over the bed, brass and burr walnut, striped marble underfoot, a fan turning under a very high ceiling.

The view is the reason to take one.
