The entry room here runs 42 to 48 square metres, under a ceiling high enough to change how the room feels. What fills it is what fills the rest of the palace: burr walnut and brass, striped marble on the floor, a headboard set below a painted panel, and a fan turning slowly whether or not the air conditioning is on.

The windows give onto the gardens or onto one of the inner courtyards, and the house assigns which. The courtyard side is quieter and cooler in the middle of the day; the garden side is the one you want at 6 in the evening. The bathroom is marble with a bath and a separate shower. Ask for king or twin when you book: it is the same room either way, at the same price.
