Bombay settles a great deal over breakfast, and this is a room to settle it in — with the bedroom door shut and the butler answering the telephone.

The bedroom behind that door is gold on cream: a dark carved headboard, a coverlet embroidered with butterflies, a gilt standard lamp and a wing chair with an ottoman pushed under it. The bathroom is Italian marble, with a tub, a separate shower and a dressing area. What it does not have is the sea, and it has 13 square metres less floor than the Luxury Suite below it. What it has instead is that alcove.
