Historical Suite, Lake View

There are 3 of them, they have names rather than numbers — Rang Mahal, Sandhya, Sisarma Darshan — and they are not variants of one plan. A palace of 1746 was not laid out on a grid, and the rooms that survived into the hotel are the shapes the building already had.

What every one of them has is a sitting area you can occupy: not a chair pushed against the wall opposite the bed, but somewhere to put a tray, read, and let somebody else sleep. Behind it, a four-poster bed and a walk-in wardrobe cut into the thickness of the wall, which tells you how thick the wall is.
