There are 3 of these, and they have the best of the garden and courtyard aspect on this side of the building. The bedroom is generous under a pitched timber ceiling, with a bed under a gathered canopy against panelled walls; the living room is a separate room with a long sofa, a low table and, at the far end of it, a round dining table with chairs.

This is where the palace stops being a very good room and starts being somewhere you can spend a day without going out. It runs 75 to 103 square metres, with handcrafted wooden floors, beams overhead and woven fabrics — and, unusually for a suite this size, still only 3 guests. Nothing here except the two Luxury Rooms takes a fourth.
