Deluxe Suite

A bed chamber and its own sitting room, divided by a matched pair of dark timber doors inlaid with gold quatrefoils — the best single detail in the house, and not something anybody could have made today.

The parlour has a wingback chair, a writing table and a window onto the gardens; the bathroom is marble and brass. No private pool in this suite — that is the Luxury Suite with Plunge Pool — so this is the room for a longer stay rather than a hotter one, and in December it is the better of the two.
