Raffles Presidential Suite

The room is grand, and the grandeur is not what makes it. What makes it is that it is painted. The bedroom's 4 walls carry a continuous hand-painted landscape — trees, water, a pavilion, in greens and ochres — running behind the bed, round the corner and along past a mother-of-pearl inlaid console. Nothing else in this house is decorated that way.

The drawing room is the other half: two sofas and a pair of planter's chairs round a low table, a chandelier, a dining table laid for 6 at the far end, and full-height windows the length of one side with Udai Sagar and the Aravallis in them. It sleeps 4, on a king bed and a twin, which makes it the only room here that goes past 3. There is one of it, on the top floor, and the concierge quotes it for your dates.
