A bed set against a painted mural of a green forest that runs the full width of the wall, with two deep wooden windows standing open over the village and the hills beyond.

No two of these suites are the same: one has a painted forest running the full width of the wall behind the bed, another has nothing behind the bed at all and two arched windows either side of it — one framing the ochre wall of the fort, the other the hills. What they share is the material: marble set with semi-precious stones, and locally made art pieces chosen for the craft rather than for the theme.

Every one of them has a courtyard connected to it, and that is the part to book for. 650 square feet inside a fort is generous; the same 650 with a piece of the fort's own outdoors attached is a different thing altogether. It takes 2 guests in 1 bed. There are 6, which on a December weekend is harder to get round than the rate.
