Devigarh Complex (Set of 2 Suites)

The golden bedroom earns its name: a bed against a panel of beaten gold under a recessed light, a brass lamp standing either side, and doors straight out onto a private sun deck with a jacuzzi on it. But the part that decides it is the water. A private black granite pool, an arcade of 5 cusped arches down one side and a domed chhatri at the end, both reproduced exactly in the surface because nothing disturbs it — and space beside it to lay a table for an evening.

It is two suites joined, and the second is an Aravali Suite — which is why it is a complex rather than a suite, and the only accommodation in the building that takes 4 adults and 2 children up to 12. It was designed around the relationship between Shiva, Shakti and Nandi, which here is not decoration so much as the reason certain things are where they are. There is one of it, so the date is the hard part.
