Aravali Suite

The suite that gets both views, and the views are the reason to take it rather than the extra square feet. One side looks at the Aravallis over the outer wall; the other looks down into the building — the black marble Kamal Courtyard with its lotus, the Darbar Courtyard, the Janana Courtyard. The window bay on the hill side is a long cushioned seat under a run of wooden casements, and it is where the afternoon goes.

The carving is heavier here than in the suites below — traditional motifs cut into the walls and set into the floors rather than applied to them — and one of them has a sitting alcove of 3 arched windows in walls of painted flowering panels, with orange bolsters laid along a white bench.
