Two Bedroom Anantara Family Pool Villa

The living room is the whole argument. A long hall under a ceiling of stripped poles laid in a herringbone with a pierced steel drum lantern hung over it, a low L-shaped sofa on 3 overlapping kilims, a carved coffee table you could serve dinner off, and a proper 6-seat dining table at the far end under a framed relief. Folding doors run the length of it onto the terrace, and past the terrace there is grass, a rectangular pool, a low battlemented wall and then the sand.

Two bedrooms — a king and a twin pair — off either side, each with a bathroom and a sunken tub, so two couples or a family with older children each get a door that closes. A butler is attached and does the useful things: the barbecue on the terrace, drinks brought to the pool, the activity bookings made at the right hour. The occupancy ceiling is 4 adults and 2 children, which is lower than the Two Bedroom Family Suite's despite the villa being 126 square metres larger — the villa gives you room, not headcount.
