Anantara Suite

Double the floor area of a Deluxe room and, more usefully, a door between the sitting and the sleeping. The lounge takes a wide L-shaped sofa with an ottoman deep enough to lie on, a low inlaid table, a pierced-brass fan light in a coffered recess and a run of framed prints; the pantry beside it is where the coffee machine, the dates and the Arabic coffee pot live, which means the room can make its own morning without anyone opening a bedroom door. Folding doors run the length of the front onto a shaded terrace with a fig tree at the end of it and the crenellated wall and the dunes past that.

The bedroom is the same scalloped arch and cane ceiling as everything else here, at more generous spacing, with its own bathroom and sunken tub. Standard occupancy is 2 and the ceiling is 3 adults and a child. This suite interconnects with Deluxe Garden Rooms — so a party that has outgrown one room can take a suite plus a bedroom off it rather than two rooms down a corridor from each other. There are 14 suites in the whole fort.
