Identical inside — the palm-leaf headboard, the lattice screens, the sofa, the freestanding tub under its lit arch, the walk-in wardrobe — and a different building with a different tempo. The Manor House is the long arcaded one in the middle of the estate, and this room is upstairs in it. The doors open onto a balcony with a carved terracotta column at the corner and an iron balustrade across the front, and what you get through them is garden: palms, clipped hedge, the grand pool somewhere below, and a slice of sea in the gap between the roofs.

It is the cheapest way into this house and it is not a compromise: the same room, the same bathroom and the same bed choice as the beachfront one, for meaningfully less money, 4 minutes’ walk from the sand and about 30 seconds from ZEST, the pool and the spa. Take it if the beach is somewhere you go and not somewhere you sit all day. It holds 4 guests at most, 3 of them adults, and a king caps it at 3.
