Beachfront Premier Room

The way into this house, and the room everything else here is measured against. The bed sits under a padded headboard with a palm leaf worked into it, pierced lattice screens either side of it, a bench across the foot and a long sofa, not a token chair. Everything is sand, bone and unbleached linen with dark timber at the edges. The bathroom is marble, with a freestanding oval tub set under a lit arched recess and twin basins facing it.

What you are paying the premium for is on the other side of the glass. Two Moorish arched doorways open onto a paved patio or a balcony above one, with a clipped hedge, a few palms and then the water — and across it the far crescent of the Palm and, at night, the lit skyline. Ground floor puts you on the sand; upstairs puts the horizon at eye level. It takes 4 guests at most, of whom 3 may be adults, and a king caps the room at 3. These interconnect on request, which is how the family rooms and the two-bedroom suites above are made.
