The Baldaquin Suite

The Baldaquin Suite was made for a wedding. The bed stands under a canopy topped with a cloud of white taffeta, and the rooms are ivory and cream, with none of the reds found elsewhere in the hotel, so the eye goes to the marquetry of the woodwork.

Portraits of Berber brides hang in the lounge. On each side of the bed, photographs of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, and Romy Schneider and Alain Delon watch over you. The bathrooms are veined marble and zellige, the welcome products smell of citrus from the gardens, and the terrace looks over the pool.
