Sea View Suite

Twice the room, and the doubling is spent on a proper living room rather than on a larger bedroom. A king behind its own door, a sitting room with a dining table in it, a bathroom with a hot tub as well as the tub and shower, and a balcony long enough to eat on.

The butler is the real difference at this step. One person now holds the week — the table at Talea, the car to Qasr Al Watan, the boat, the thing you forgot at home — and after two days you stop arranging anything yourself.

The room

The living room — a long cream sofa under a mosaic canvas, armchairs around a low table, a dining table set in the window bay beyond and the water past that.

The dining end of the suite: four chairs round a round table by the arched window, a burr-walnut cabinet against the wall, and the Gulf through a pierced screen.

The suite's bathroom: a jetted tub on the right beside a frosted-glass shower screen, a separate WC and bidet through the middle, and a marble vanity along the near wall.

The bedroom opens straight onto the living room through a sliding door, with a king bed against the gold fretwork wall and, past the arched terrace doors, the open Gulf by day.
