Banyan Pool Villa

This is the villa as the estate was first built, and the reason to take it is not economy — it is 30 square metres larger than the Serenity grade above it. The plan is the old one: a single pavilion of dark timber and pale stone, glazed the length of the garden side, opening straight onto a wooden deck and a small square pool. The bed is low and Japanese, set against a painted panel, and the room is quieter and darker than the newer grades because the eaves are deeper.

The bathroom's outdoor half is the part people remember: a tub sunk into stone in a walled court of its own, orchids along the wall, nothing over it. Coffee and tea things, bicycles to get about the estate, Wi-Fi. Two guests, and two only. Take it if you want the most floor for the least money and do not need the pool to be large.
