Seascape King

A long room laid out square to the water — bed against the panelled wall under a relief of gilded coral, a bench across the foot of it, two easy chairs at the balcony door, and a watercolour carpet in blues running the length. The bathroom is white marble with two vessel basins on a floating timber shelf, a stand-alone tub, a separate walk-in shower and a walk-in wardrobe. Chopard in the bathroom, a Nespresso machine, a minibar, a Samsung smart panel and international adaptors as standard.

What separates this from its Palmscape twin is what is outside. There is no island, no fountain and no skyline on this side — only water, a container ship on the horizon in the afternoon, and the light going flat and silver at 6. It is the quieter of the two, and the one to take if the point of the trip is to stop looking at things. Two adults, and there is no roll-away bed in the guest rooms.
