Palm King

Identical in plan to the Ocean King — bronze headboard, coral-print carpet, sitting area, marble desk, a table for two by the glass — and a completely different room to wake up in. East-facing, so the light arrives early and flat across the water, and the balcony gives you the inhabited half of the view: the villa fronds of Palm Jumeirah below, the lagoon between them, and then the towers.

The reason to take this side is the hour after sunset. Dubai Marina comes on as a solid block of light with the Burj standing beyond it, and from high in the tower you are looking at the whole city at once. Which is worth more depends on what you came for. There is no better room here, only a different hour.
