Ocean King — Atlantis, The Palm

The entry room here, and it is a big one. Sand and cream, a carpet printed with sea-fan coral in teal and bone, a hammered coral branch in scarlet on the wall, and a headboard of padded bronze panels running floor to ceiling behind the bed. There is a proper sitting area with a low sofa, a round marble table for two by the glass, and a desk along the far wall.

The door is the difference. It opens onto a balcony deep enough to sit on with a table and a chair, and there is nothing in front of it — open Gulf to the horizon, a ship on it in the afternoon, and the sun going down into water. The bathroom has a separate tub and a walk-in shower. Connecting rooms are available, which is how the Two Bedroom Family Room is built.

The room

The same room from the other end — a cream sofa, a marble writing desk and a chair — with the balcony door taking up the whole of one wall and holding flat pale Gulf and nothing else.

The bathroom: a marble top on a driftwood base against an amber honeycomb mosaic, a freestanding oval bath beside it, and the bedroom and its balcony visible straight through the opening.
